Announcement
I retired on Jan. 27, 2022 from providing full-time massage therapy in FL. It's been my pleasure to provide massage therapy for the past 23 years to my patients located throughout Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. I'm looking forward to my new adventure, but I won't be rocking in any chair at some obscure sunny old folks home, not yet! I have moved to Westbrook, Maine where I live with my husband, Richard (high school sweethearts). Also, I am now enjoying visits with family and friends in the Portland, Bangor, Newport, Exeter, Dover, and Dexter areas. Oh, and there will be a few weekends spent in MA and CT. Leave a light on for me! I have created a new business venture with my best friend, Julie Summers, which we launched in December of 2022. Richard and I fixed up one of our apartments to provide a treatment room, retail space and an airbnb.

"Studies have shown massage to have positive effects on conditions from colic to hyperactivity to diabetes to migraines - in fact, on every malady Touch Research Institutes has studied thus far."
The AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association) describes massage as: "The manipulation of soft tissue for therapeutic purposes, including but not limited to the use of effleurage, petrissage, pressure, friction, tapotement, kneading, vibration, range-of-motion stretches, and any other soft tissue manipulation whether manual or by mechanical or electrical apparatus, and also includes the use of oils, herbal lotion, creams, salt, hydrotherapy, hot packs, and cold packs." Which ever definition you use, one thing is for sure and that is, "massage feels good!"
Benefits of Massage About You and Your Program Your Massage Session
Karen's goal is to provide you with an atmosphere that is both relaxing and comfortable. A place where you may receive soothing, healing and recuperative benefits from massage. You and your family will find relief from life’s muscle aches, pains, ailments, stresses, and injuries.
She incorporates a variety of massage techniques to meet the needs of the body's healing treatment. Karen is certified in Basic Swedish Massage, Relaxation Techniques, NeuroMuscular therapies (myofascial release, muscle energy techniques, trigger point therapy, positional release), Sports Massage, Myoskeletal Techniques (Level 1), Active Isolated Stretching - Spa Method, ACE Massage Cupping™ (Level 1), and trained in Spontaneous Muscle Release Technique (Lower Extremities).
Massage does not replace the need for medical attention. Massage therapists do not diagnose medical problems or manipulate bones. Always tell Karen if you have a medical problem, even a minor one. There are certain situations in which caution should be taken when receiving massage and bodywork.
Massage and bodywork can help reduce chronic pain; reduce swelling; improve posture; loosen tight muscles; improve muscle and skin tone; speed recovery from injuries and illness; increase joint flexibility and range of motion; strengthen the immune system; increase blood and lymph circulation; lower blood pressure; reduce stress; promote better sleep; and provide a feeling of well-being.
Karen is licensed in massage in the States of Maine and Florida. She travels between the two states for several weeks at a time. All massage sessions are by appointment only. Private individual table massages are provided in Florida at an office conveniently located in Clearwater, FL.
